CEDAR CITY, Utah — Four Southern Utah University volleyball student-athletes were named to the 2025-26 College Sports Communications (CSC) Academic All-District Team, the organization announced.
Head Coach Danielle Jensen said
"These honors highlight what it means to be a student-athlete. Balancing academics and athletics is challenging at this level, and these four have excelled in both areas."
Individual Standouts
This is the second year in a row that Victoria Zibecchi has been recognized with this honor. Zibecchi has appeared in 51 matches in her time as a Thunderbird and has made a lasting impact on this program. Zibecchi led the Thunderbirds with 220 kills on the season, averaging 2.39 kills per set.
Asya Akbulut spent one season with Southern Utah and led the Thunderbirds this year with 455 assists and averaged five assists per set.
Kaitlyn Aleshire made an immediate impact in her first season as a Thunderbird. She ranked second on the team in blocks with 82 and fourth on the team in kills with 140.
Addyson McArthur impressed in her first season as a Thunderbird. She recorded16 kills in two separate matches this season and was second on the team in kills per set at 1.96.

The 2025-26 Academic All-District® Women's Volleyball Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, and NAIA.
