CEDAR CITY, Utah - With outstanding back-to-back double-doubles last week, junior Ava Uhrich garnered Western Athletic Conference Player of the Week honors for her second time this year. In the Southern Utah women's basketball team's win over Utah Valley and overtime loss to California Baptist, Uhrich averaged a tremendous 19.5 points and 16.5 rebounds.
Head Coach Tracy Mason Said:
"Ava has been a monster on the boards and is playing with so much fire right now. She's such a competitor. I'm really proud of her and she's definitely earned this award."

Starting off her third conference season with the Thunderbirds, Uhrich has stepped into an incredible stretch of her career. Against WAC opponents, she has averaged 17 points per game and a conference-high 12.75 rebounds per game. This past week, she was also incredibly accurate, making 16 of her 30 shots from the field.
In Thursday's win over the UVU Wolverines, Uhrich rained down 20 points to go with 16 rebounds. She moved the ball efficiently as well, leading the team with five assists.
Despite Southern Utah's overtime loss in Saturday's matchup against the CBU Lancers, Uhrich put on an exceptional performance throughout the afternoon. She racked up 19 points and tied her impressive career-high of 17 rebounds.
