The 2010 Gymnastics Team at Southern Utah University left an indelible mark on both the program's history and the Division I landscape. Their teamwork played a pivotal role in the transformation of the Flippin' Birds to a national powerhouse. Their hard work and dedication culminated in claiming the Western Athletic Conference (WAC)_ Championship. Elise Wheeler's outstanding performance earned her the title of Gymnast of the Year, while Alyssa Click was honored as Freshman of the Year. Scott Bauman was recognized as Coach of the Year. As of the time of their induction, this remarkable team held the school record for the second highest vault team score in SUU history with a 49.275. They finished the regular season as the No. 18 team in the NCAA, narrowly missing a spot at nationals with a third-place finish at the NCAA Regional competition. Wheeler proudly represented the Thunderbirds at the NCAA National Championships, and the team's commitment to excellence extended to the classroom with nin gymnasts earning the distinction of Academic All-WAC.
