Berry was a two-year starter for SUU at wide receiver. He held SUU records for receptions in a game, receiving yards in a game, receptions in a season, receiving yards in a season and also held career records for receptions, receiving yards and touchdown receptions.  He was named Second-Team NAIA All-American in 1970 as well as First-Team All-Conference that same year.
