From 1998-99, Gibson garnered All-American status while at SUU by finishing seventh place in the 400-meter hurdles in a time of 58.38.  She was Southern Utah Track and Field's first Division I All-American. Upon graduation, she held the school record in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 57.5 in 1998.
