During his tenure at SUU from 1982-97, Dr. Sherratt was a motivator in the University's move from NAIA to NCAA Division I.  He helped establish the Western Football Conference, the American West Conference and he engineered the school's move to the Mid-Continent Conference.  Dr. Sherratt also oversaw construction of the Centrum and Coliseum at SUU and increased athletic funding resources and the status of women's athletics.
